Feasibility of neural network metamodels for emulation and sensitivity analysis of radionuclide transport models

When assessing \({^{137}}\)Cs transportation in groundwater in the Hanford case, the relationship between the free-water concentration and the pore-water concentration was determined in a laboratory experiment. The experiment was performed with Hanford sand packed in glass cylinders (length 7.2 cm and inner diameter 1.0 cm) using NaCl water solution to simulate the Hanford tank content.
