Fructose consumption is associated with tumor growth and metastasis, but its role in the antitumor immune response is unclear. In Cell Metabolism, Zhang et al. find that dietary fructose shapes adipocyte metabolism, which enhances CD8⁺ T cell responses and controls tumor growth. When mice were maintained on a high-fructose diet and challenged with B16-F10 melanoma cells, tumor growth was suppressed compared to mice on a conventional diet.
