Chinese spy balloon used US based internet network: Report

A Chinese spy balloon that flew over the US earlier this year had a secret connection to an American internet service provider, US intelligence officials have revealed.

According to two current and one former US official, as NBC reports, the balloon used the US-based company to communicate with China, mainly for navigation purposes. The officials said the balloon could send burst transmissions through the company’s network, which are short bursts of high-volume data.
