‘Replicator’ drone finalists will be chosen in mid-December

A spokesperson for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) has announced that the first candidates for the US’ planned drone “Replicator” program will be selected in mid-December.

The program was first announced in August of this year, and this is the first sign of progress in its objective to make large amounts of cheap, capable, and disposable drones for the US armed forces. However, the chosen candidate drones will not be publicly announced once the selection is formally completed, presumably for national security.
